The 2020 Hyundai Elantra: Bold Looks and Top Value
September 09 2019, Canyon Meadows Hyundai

Hyundai raises the bar even more for 2020, a year after a total inside-out redesign. With sporty refinements, dynamic exterior features, and the integration of many technologies, Hyundai has created its most exciting Elantra to date. Four trims comprise the model line for the 2020 Hyundai Elantra: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate.
Improving the Next-Generation Exterior in the 2020 Hyundai Elantra
The sporty front end, assertive fenders, unique headlights, aerodynamic hood, and flashy rear advance the spirit of Hyundai’s commitment to a renewed product line. If you’ve shopped for an Elantra in previous years, you should definitely take another look.
All trims feature projection headlights, a centre high mount stop lamp, power heated side mirrors, all-season tires, and body-colour front and rear bumpers. The Preferred adds 16” aluminum-alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, LED side mirror turn signal repeaters, and more. The Luxury and Ultimate trims have the above features and upgrade to a power sunroof, 17” alloy wheels, and chrome window moulding and door handles. Features reserved just for the Luxury model include LED headlights and taillights.
Solid Power with Premium Efficiency in the 2020 Hyundai Elantra
Each Elantra model has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces a healthy 147 horsepower with 132 lb-ft of torque. The Essential trim has a standard six-speed manual transmission, whereas the remaining models have a fuel-efficient Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) that has every gear ratio possible within a particular range, promoting better performance.
A significant strength of the Elantra is its fuel economy. Trims with the IVT transmission consume a low 7.8/5.6 l/100 km (city/highway), while the manual transmission manages a respectable 9.1/6.3. Either way, all trims have you saving at the pump.
For a compact vehicle, the Elantra comes with many standard interior features. All models have heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, iPod/USB/auxiliary connectivity, a Bluetooth hands-free system, a TFT display, and more.
The Preferred upgrades to a 7.0” touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and more. Higher trim levels feature an 8.0” touchscreen display, premium seating surfaces, upgraded audio systems with XM, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and much more.
